LANDSCAPES OF LAKE DISTRIC NP

The landscapes of Lake District National Park has always inspired those who love to walk and climb, as well as to paint and write. My interest in documenting the landscape is stimulated by my love for exploring the places which I have never seen before. The way I photograph the vast and barren landscape reflects my own feelings as a person.

In my practice I am trying to connect two aspects, travelling and landscapes. The world is still not fully explored by humans, so people tended to explore the unexplored since the beginning of human existence on earth. Landscape had been depicted in paintings and literature from very beginning. In this project I am exploring the landscapes of Lake District National Park where the land reflects beauty and basic elements of nature. I have approached the land seeing in both the detail and the larger whole. My work is inspired from landscape photographers like Roger Fenton, William Henry Jackson, Ansel Adams etc. The images of this project reflect the process of exploration and sense of wonder which is key elements. I believe it is the absolute scale of the land that is celebrated.
